The Story of the Magic Traffic Cone
We’ve had lots of traffic cone fanart on the blog lately and there’s still more to come. I expect this is confusing for those of you who haven’t followed the long chain of links back through the archive required to understand how it all started. So here’s the story in a single post.
In The Reichenbach Fall, there’s a shot of Sherlock being wheeled into St. Bart’s on a trolley. It’s only a couple of seconds long. In the corner of that shot is a traffic cone with the words “SLOW DOWN” taped to it.

Funny thing?
If you do what the traffic cone says and slow down (watch the shot frame-by-frame) you’ll see that it wasn’t Sherlock on the trolley.

This random object was giving out clues.
But was it placed by the Sherlock crew or something that’s really at St. Bart’s? I asked, and not one but two awesome people checked the actual filming location and reported back. The cone is real. A real inanimate object that clearly wants to be a Sherlockian. It’s amazing and I love it.
Hence the fanart.
(Any chance the cone is trolling and the body swap was a mistake? Always possible, and that would be amazing in its own way. But here’s why I think it loves us instead.)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (I was one of those people who was like wtf is with the traffic cones??)

Fuck this is good. I was completely blown away by this performance. Both of their voices  have matured far and beyond from when they first started on K-POP STAR or even from a few weeks ago when I stopped watching due to life getting in the way. Great, great choice in song. Can’t say if that’s because I happen to like this song a lot or because I genuinely think it showcases their voices fantastically, but who gives a whoop. And finally, look how dolled up they are!

I wonder how these girls would place if they were on American Idol or The Voice. I don’t watch those shows normally so I don’t know how good the talent is, but from what I’ve seen they don’t have many 16 and 17 year olds…

London Travels

Hello the Internet!

I am going to visit London in less than two weeks. If you have any recommendations on where to go and what to see or eat, leave a message!

So far my plan is to:

  • GO - All the top 10 attractions seen in Charlie McDonnell’s Challenge Charlie!
  • GO - Stonehenge
  • GO - Windsor Castle
  • GO - Bath
  • SEE - Travelling Light and confirm that Damien Molony is indeed a live person!
  • SEE - Conquest of the South Pole and/or Brimstone and Treacle?
  • SEE - One of the Globe-to-Globe performances?
  • GO - Portobello Market
  • GO - Brick Lane Market
  • GO - Oxford and/or Cambridge?
  • EAT - Best macaroons in London
  • EAT - Best fish & chips in London
  • EAT - Afternoon Tea
  • EAT - Okay really just anything that looks good
  • GO - London Design Museum
  • GO - Tate Modern?
  • GO - Covent Garden
  • GO - Day trip to Brussels?!?! (this is an ambitious plan - don’t know if we’ll be able to pull it off but I’d love to!)
  • GO - 221B Baker Street and Speedy’s Sandwich Shop!

The ?s depend on how much time/money we have really. I didn’t realize I’d want to see so many plays, but they all sound really good! Did you know, Globe-to-Globe will be performing Othello hip hop style?! I think the tickets are sold out though. Sadness.

Aww, Colin is so adorable-looking in this gif. My eyes don’t even go to Bradley.

In my mind, it went something like this

Moffat:I’ve been online and looked at all the theories, and there’s one clue that everyone’s missed. It’s something that Sherlock did that was very out of character, but which nobody has picked up on.
Fandom:OMG, what?! *goes to rewatch*
Moffat:And now we wait.
Fandom:Was it the crying? Or that he shook hands with Jim?
Moffat:Dance, my puppets, dance.
Fandom:Maybe it was that he called John instead of texting? Or that he threw away his phone?
Moffat:Not telling.
Fandom:He made tea? He panicked? He was nice to Molly? He acknowledged having more than one friend? He played with a bouncy ball? He grabbed Jim by the collar? He didn't worry about Mrs. Hudson? He didn't examine Jim's corpse? He says he's not clever? He didn't solve the key puzzle correctly? He threw himself off a roof?
Moffat:I'm enjoying your suffering.
Fandom:What is it? Tell us! We will never figure it out because EVERYTHING SHERLOCK DID DURING THE ENTIRE EPISODE WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF CHARACTER. WE DIDN'T NOTICE BEFORE, BUT NOW THAT YOU'VE POINTED IT OUT WE FEEL IT WAS ALL VERY BADLY WRITTEN.
Thompson:Thanks for that, Steven. Thanks so very much.

OCD Confessions

Really wish people would stop using YOUR and YOU’RE interchangeably. Mistaking ITS and IT’S is one thing. Seriously, if you can’t bother to think for one second, just save yourself the time and use U R and UR.

Say, did the screen just go black
for the tiniest time and come back?
Through the keyhole I can see
everything I’ll ever want to be

Seems like a rather familiar, bit overdone story, although who knows - it’s by StudioCanal, so I end up pleasantly surprised. In any case, I could watch it just for the actors: Lenora Crichlow, Bradley James, Rupert Graves, and Noel Clarke! Way to represent my four favorite BBC shows!
